‘Camden Social’ opens its doors this month with a contemporary take on traditional European/British

Camden Town’s new restaurant, Camden Social, signals further expansion for the multi-brand hospitality group, The Rhumshack Group. The European/British brasserie is located on Jamestown Road and will open on July 14th.

The Rhumshack Group’s expansion into modern, all-day brasserie dining follows the success of other brands in the area: Cottons restaurant, Bubblemania and the Tai Pan Alley dining concept.

Camden Town, synonymous with its famous street markets, world cuisine and alternative nightlife, has diversified to attract day-trippers as well as niche spenders. This latest offering will provide cuisine that originates much closer to home with a distinctly British and European feel. The premises were previously occupied by Byron Burgers and rest just steps away from the high street.

Camden Social embraces the hustle and bustle of street life while enjoying a more relaxed position from the side street where diners can interact in modern social surroundings. The brasserie will offer diners the choice of breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and Sunday roasts. Arnaud Barbezat, the head of marketing at The Rhumshack Group, said: “We’re happy to be able to bring something new to Camden’s restaurant scene. It's a place to reunite with the joy of eating out again.

"Camden Social will continue to build on the group's eclectic offering in the area, which currently includes authentic Asian dining, Caribbean rum shacks and Bubble waffle shops.”

Despite the challenges affecting much of the hospitality sector over the past year, The Rhumshack Group has continued to expand in the capital during the pandemic. The company opened a second Bubblemania shop in March and its Tai Pan Alley street food concept in April this year.
